Javier Lorenzo is a prestigious Alicante painter who took part in several editions of the San Isidro district murals. In this mural, two people look at a wall. Lorenzo is portraying visitors who come to the district to see his paintings. One of the features of Javier Lorenzo’s work is that he paints people’s backs, as he stated in 2013 to the “Información” newspaper at the exhibition of his paintings at San Juan de Dios Museum in Orihuela: There was a time when I only made portraits but I grew tired of that. That is not the only reason though. I like the characters (always friends and family) to see the same as the viewer and therefore they have their backs turned.
