This piece is a tribute to Miguel Hernández, the fighter at the battlefront. The Republican flag is the background behind two black and white militiamen from the Spanish Civil War. The painting includes some verses of the Winds of the people poem.

Singing I await death,
for there are nightingales that sing
above the guns
and in the midst of battles.
