The design and coordination of this mural was executed by José Aledo. The students of Orihuela’s Tháder secondary education high school took part in its creation. José Aledo is a painter from Orihuela as described by Doctor Manuel García Pérez: for decades, the works of painter Pepe Aledo have been characterised by a dreamlike treatment which moves between literary references and an unprecedented devotion for surrealism. The author evokes in this painting the cover of the Catholic literary magazine “El Gallo Crisis: libertad y tiranía”, directed by Ramón Sijé. In it, there was always a red rooster. Poet Miguel Hernández wrote regularly in this journal between 1934 and 1935.
