The tenth edition of the San Isidro Murals begins

The mayor of Orihuela, Pepe Vegara, together with the Councilor for Culture, Gonzalo Montoya, participated this afternoon in the inauguration of the tenth edition of the San Isidro Murals that will be celebrated this weekend. The opening ceremony was also attended by different councilors from the Municipal Corporation, the mayor of the neighborhood, José Luis Box, as well as representatives of the neighborhood association and students of the Jesús María de San Isidro School, as well as its management team and teachers. .

In this way, a new edition of this “emblematic cultural event that fills the streets of the San Isidro neighborhood with color and art began. The celebration of the event coincides with the celebration of International Museum Day, and the San Isidro festivities, turning this date into a special moment for the city,” as explained by the mayor of Culture. During his speech, the Councilor for Culture highlighted the importance of this event, not only as an artistic exhibition, but also as a tribute to the work of Miguel Hernández.

For his part, the mayor of Orihuela has highlighted “the importance of keeping the memory of our poet alive and being able to pay tribute to him through this event where painting, music and poetry share the same space during these three days. Today we inaugurate its tenth edition but we hope that many more will come.”

The event, which will take place throughout the weekend, from May 17 to 19, will include various cultural, musical and artistic activities, inviting all citizens to participate and enjoy this celebration.

Both have invited the citizens of Orihuela, tourists and visitors to discover the history of these murals, through this “museum on the street” and to participate in all the activities scheduled throughout the weekend.
